Mother of God "Multiplier of Wheat"

This icon was painted by the blessing of St. Ambrose of Optina. In this image we see the Mother of God, arms stretched out in blessing, sitting upon the clouds. Below the Theotokos is a field containing, flowers, grass and sheaves of rye. The idea behind this icon is that the Mother of God is a helper to those who labor for their daily bread.
