Christ "Teaching in the Temple"
This icon illustrates the story from the Gospel where the Mother of God and St. Joseph lose track of their son and return to Jerusalem to find him teaching in the temple, Luke 2 : 41-52. This theme is somewhat rare in the iconography tradition, but is illustrated nicely in this ancient Russian version.
