Deisis with Christ Enthroned Orthodox Icon
The Deisis is a common iconographic depiction throughout the history of the Orhthodox Church. This theme generally has the Savior in the center surrounded by a supplicating St. Jonn the Forerunner and the Mother of God. Various additional saints commonly follow. This particular Russian version also has Sts. Peter and Paul, St. Onouphry the Great and a monastic saint (unknown) at the far right.
