St. Alypius the Iconographer of the Kiev Caves
St. Alypius was one of the first and best of the Russian iconographers. He studied under the Greek masters and was prolific in painting at the Kiev Caves monastery. Many of the icons painted by St. Alypius were glorified with miracles.
